Job Summary: The Maternal and Newborn and Child Health Capacity
Building Senior Officer will be responsible for leading and coordinating
all project MNCH facility-based capacity building activities
in their district of location including; offsite and onsite training; onsite
mentorship, quality improvement, documentation and tracking of capacity building
activities in collaboration with the district health team leadership and the
project monitoring evaluation, accountability and learning officer. The Senior
Officer may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team
in cases of humanitarian crisis and to coordinate district level activities on
behalf of the MNCH program manager.
Building Senior Officer will be responsible for leading and coordinating

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicants should hold a bachelor’s
degree in medicine or health related subject or higher diploma in either
midwifery or nursing or equivalent accrued working experience. A
Postgraduate training in public health, health systems strengthening,
Reproductive Health and Gender is an added advantage; - At least five years’ experience in MNCH
related programming in Uganda (preferably with an International NGO); - Skills and experience in training and
mentorship of health facility based health workers is an added advantage. - Past
experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in
Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child
Protection is an added advantage. - Excellent
analytical skills and strategic planning abilities. - Possess
the ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and
perform effectively as a member of a team. - Willingness
to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous
conditions. - Highly
computer literate and possess excellent documentation skills. - Availability
and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian
responses. - Highly
developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international
environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures - Ability
to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary. - Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation
and coaching - Excellent
time management and planning capacity. - Availability
and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian
responses. - Willingness
to extensively travel to the field.
