About EGPAF:
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric
AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) seeks to end pediatric HIV/AIDS through research,
advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. We are a global leader in the
fight against HIV/AIDS, working in 15 countries and at 7,000 sites around the
world to provide comprehensive HIV services, including pediatric and adult
prevention, care and treatment. Our integrated programming supports
reproductive health, mother newborn and child health (MNCH), nutrition, and
health systems strengthening.
Job Summary: The
Research and Evaluation Advisor will in liaison with the program team and the
SI&E team to design, oversee the design and mentation of program
evaluations and other operations research; and all related procedures and program
assessments with the purpose of identifying improved models of MNCH/PMTCT,
Malaria, Youth and Adolescent Health, and HIV care and treatment program
implementation and enhancing program quality. The advisor will work closely
with teams to identify gaps/bottlenecks using strong scientific methodology to
inform the program; MOH and the broader HIV field; and also make scientific information
accessible to EGPAF, MOH and District staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Epidemiology, MD or similar
    advanced degree in public health, maternal child health or HIV related
    health science
  • Three
    or more years clinical or implementation/operations or behavioral research experience.
  • Demonstrated
    experience in providing technical support to health professionals in
    evaluation design and implementation of operations/ implementation
    research methodologies, and study implementation in developing countries
  • Detailed
    knowledge and understanding of HIV, PMTCT, MNCH, Malaria and HIV care and
    treatment
  • Prior
    experience in working for an international NGO in developing countries.
  • Demonstrated
    experience in the development of research proposals and management of
    research in developing countries
  • Working
    knowledge of protection of human subjects in research and ethics
    regulations to ensure compliance with all local and international
    requirements.
