Manager
is a faith-based private university established in 1993, and owned by the
Uganda Episcopal Conference. UMU received a civil University Charter in 2005
from government, to legitimize its existence and autonomy. UMU offers
full-time, weekend/part time, and distance-learning courses. Students are drawn
from a variety of backgrounds and countries like Uganda, the rest of Africa and
world-wide.
- Responsible
for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or
electronic wiring, equipment, appliances and fixtures. - Identifying
malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment
and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the
problem. - Inspecting
electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards,
defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance
with system. - Guiding
management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. - Directing
and training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring,
equipment, and fixtures. - Ensure
that records and files regarding electric compliances are maintained - Preparing
monthly reports and ordering supplies and equipment. - Maintaining
University Generator and making sure that the generator is on when
necessary - Performing
any other duties as may be requested by relevant University authorities
- The
candidate should have Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a
recognised Institution - Four
or more years’ experience as Electrician in a big organisation. - Good
working knowledge and ability to install and fix electrical appliances.
