Uganda
formed in 2009, to promote equitable access to social services and opportunities
for Deaf young people and their families in Uganda through advocacy, cost
effective and sustainable services. Our programme revolves around promotion of
access to social services including health and education to deaf children and
their families in Uganda with the aim of empowering people with hearing
impairments to enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
Project Officer will offer support in coordinating field activities to be
implemented under the Deaf People’s Health & Education Rights in Masaka and
Arua districts.
- The
candidate should hold a bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Community
Development or related fields. - Past
exposure and experience in project planning, management, and evaluation. - Additional
training on Reproductive health or Special Needs education would be an
added advantage - Good
writing skills and computer literacy. - Excellent
reporting and communication skills - Significant
experience in project cycle management, budget management, monitoring and
evaluation tools, and systems. - Good
understanding and knowledge of local government structures, working with
groups of young deaf people and general disability work. - Working
knowledge of deafness and Sign Language is an added advantage
