Uganda
non-governmental community-based organization, whose mandate is to empower poor
communities in Uganda. We recently established a Social Enterprise – KaTu Honey
as a business wing to our charity. The revenue raised will help the charity to
continue the community interventions to benefit vulnerable women and children,
including the disabled.
Enterprise Manager will be responsible for the tactical and operational
implementation, development and delivery of its KATU Honey Social Enterprise.
- In
charge of the development and Execution of a Business Plan for KATU Honey - Develop
a Business Plan to ensure that KaTutandike Ltd will support at least 50%
of KaTutandike Uganda funding needs within a three-year period - Offer
strategic leadership and direction to scale up the social enterprise and
ensure a steady source of revenue for KTU. - Responsible
for the development of a marketing strategy and distribution channels - Introduce
and sustain a consistent market presence for KATU Honey in Uganda - Develop
a marketing strategy for KATU Honey nationally, regionally, and
internationally - Manage
the Production Unit - Manage
the production unit, supervise and support staffs to process and package
high quality honey which meet highest quality, hygiene and regulatory
standards. - Assess,
control and evaluate the costs vs. outcomes of KATU Honey as well as
ensuring prudent oversight over budgets and expenditure Develop Beneficial
Partnerships and SE expansion Opportunities - Develop
strategic partnerships, collaborations and networks with other appropriate
organisations - Identify
other viable and innovative social enterprise options and products that
can be recommend to management.
- The
applicant should preferably hold a good Bachelor’s degree in Business
Management, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Agribusiness or a
related area - Three
or more years’ experience working with business oriented groups or
start-ups - Practical
knowledge and experience in value chain development, including clear
understanding of constraints - Past
exposure and experience with investors and developing funding proposals
for impact investors - Detailed
knowledge and understanding of bee keeping and honey processing is an
added advantage.
