- Ensure
that all project activities includes sufficient attention to gender and
youth considerations and that project activities protect youth, women and
children in targeted communities from malaria and other health issues; - Offer
strategic technical direction and guidance on gender and youth integration
to key personnel, project staff, government ministries, and project
partners and stakeholders; - Ensure
that gender and youth are mainstreamed across the program, including
training materials, monitoring, operations, policies and procedures, and
design activities that target women and youth within the scope of the
project; - Carry
out gender analyses and research on gender norms and constraints in
project locations in Uganda; - Utilize
available and active women’s and youth networks and organizations in the
planning and implementation of project activities. - Intuitively
review and provide input to project work plans, with attention to gender
and youth dimensions of technical activities and operations, and discuss
gender issues and priorities with project senior management and other
technical specialists; - Work
closely with technical staff to ensure that gender and youth
considerations are assessed and accounted for; - Maintain
an up-to-date and thorough understanding of gender and youth issues
related to project components.
- The
ideal candidates for the Gender and Youth Specialists vacancies should
have a minimum of five years of experience in gender and youth
integration, public health and malaria prevention programming. - Possess
at least a Master’s Degree in international development, international
affairs, public health, gender, or a related field; - Three
or more years of experience effectively integrating gender and youth
considerations into health and malaria programming; - Five
or more years of experience partnering with government ministries; - Past
exposure and experience designing and facilitating trainings on gender and
youth issues and gender and youth integration processes and techniques; - Good
knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation, including
experience with effective gender and youth indicators and data collection
considerations; - Capacity
to be original and creative in strategies to integrate gender and youth
considerations into non-gender related programming. - The
candidates should be based in Uganda;
