Government’s mandate to fulfill the health obligations. The Health Service
Commission was a creation of the 1995 Constitution. Its establishment was a
recognition of the protracted efforts of Health professionals to have a
specialized appointing Commission which could be sensitive to their cause and
professionally tackle the peculiarities and unique issues inherent in the
Health Service.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in planning,
budgeting, directing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating hospital
administrative activities in the Hospital. - Oversees and accounts for the allocated
resources. - Works in liaison with the Director in the
administration of the Institute. - Ensures proper maintenance of Institutes
Infrastructure. - Participates in ensuring availability of
the necessary equipment and other supplies to the Institute. - Performs human resource management
activities like identifying manpower needs, training, promotion, leave and
deployment. - Compiles and submits timely reports to
Hospital Director. - Performs any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
Experience:
- The Senior Hospital Administrator should
hold an Honours Degree in Social Sciences, Arts, or SWASA from a
recognized Institution. Must have at least a post graduate Diploma in
Health Service Management from a recognized Institution. - A minimum of three or more three (3)
years’ experience in Hospital administration as Hospital Administrator.
