is the leading National Humanitarian Organization in Uganda and a member of the
International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. The ICRC is an
International humanitarian institution which has a mandate to protect victims
of international and armed conflicts i.e. the wounded, refugees, civilians,
prisoners and other non-combatants.

Job Summary: The
Officer, Youth Development and Volunteer Management will have the
responsibility of developing, monitoring and implementing systems for
effectively managing the youth and volunteers programs in line with the
organizational mission and vision.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop,
    implement and monitor the youth and volunteer membership management
    schemes in line with the department’s mission.
  • Develop
    and implement the recruitment and retention plan for youth, volunteers and
    members.
    Actively contribute to URCS design of community development
    programmes.
    Offering technical support to branches to identify and prepare youth and
    volunteer programmes / projects
  • Prepare
    unit budget taking into account URC’s strategic plan in line with
    organisation’s set standards.
    Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports of youth,
    volunteer and membership activities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Red Cross job Vacancy should hold a Degree in
    community development, sociology, natural sciences, or any related field;
    Post graduate training in related field; Computer literate
  • Three
    or more years’ experience in implementation of youth programs and
    management of volunteers or membership organizations.
  • Good
    knowledge of; Planning and Budgeting
  • Good
    knowledge and understanding of youth, volunteer and members issues,
    Participatory approaches and methodologies 
  • Skills
    in team building and delegation
  • Diplomacy
    and Confidentiality
  • Highly
    effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent
    analytical and communication skills
  • Strong
    documentation skills
