Job Summary: The MTN
Senior Manager, Hub Applications will be responsible for the creation,
maintenance  and steer the continuous
improvement of Enterprise Applications, Charging Systems and VAS platforms
through capacity planning, optimization and support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Managing
    the support of various Enterprise Applications and the INA/AS nodes within
    the IT Shared Services Hub, and to ensure effective capacity planning
    including performance management across these platforms.
  • Intuitively
    teviewing and optimizing business continuity strategies, Service Level
    Agreement (SLA) management/ reporting and measurement.
  • Working
    with the business to translate its requirements into technology blueprints
    together with the architecture and planning teams to enable the business
    to achieve its strategic objectives.
  • Ensure
    compliance to documentation and alignment to IT Service Management
    policies.
  • Supporting
    a long-term applications strategy development, including investigation of
    new systems and planning of upgrades plus optimization.
  • Ensuring
    that team programmes and task deadlines are met, and maintaining high
    performance on SLAs.
  • Taking
    lead in the deployment of new applications; systems software; products
    and/or enhancements of existing applications throughout four operating
    countries.
  • Actively
    engaging with the individual operating countries to ensure that
    applications meet business requirements and system goals; fulfilling end
    user requirements and identifying and resolving system issues.
  • Assisting
    in the negotiation of contracts with software plus service providers and
    overseeing each contract from a service delivery perspective. .
  • Managing
    and providing direction for the application team in support of the
    business operation.
  • Contributing
    to the pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in orderto
    identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Working
    in liaison with network administrators and software engineers to assist
    with quality assurance, program logic and data processing.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    MTN Telecom employee should hold a BSc degree in IT/Software Engineering.
    Possession of a Master’s degree in IT/Software Engineering is an added
    advantage
  • At
    least five years related IT experience preferably in managing IT teams,
    with technical knowledge of software services;
  • Past
    programme management experience and a sound understanding of ITIL
    standards and best practice within operational environments
  • At
    least three (3) years’ work experience at managerial level
  • Possess
    the ability to work under pressure
  • Advanced
    communication/ interpersonal and reporting skills
  • Exceptional
    data analysis skills
  • Skills
    in Information management
  • Risk
    assessment and management skills
  • Skills
    in Programme budgeting, communication planning and management
