Sciences for Health (MSH)
(MSH) is an international non-profit, public health organisation with
headquarters in USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide.
MSH is committed to saving lives and improving the health of the world’s
poorest and most vulnerable people by closing the gap between knowledge and
action in public health. MSH Uganda is currently running a number of USAID and
other donor funded projects, both in Kampala and other parts of the country.
Business Development Manager will be responsible for the exploration and
development of new business for the Uganda MSH Country office. S/he will
proactively support or seek new business opportunities within and outside
Uganda. This post will be responsible for intelligence gathering at country
level, building partnerships with the private sector to identify cost share
opportunities, solicit funding, and supporting the development of funding
proposals for MSH’s existing multi-sectoral country projects.
- Assist
the Country Representative to execute the country strategic roadmap
(CSRM), and in the promotion of synergistic operations of MSH activities. - Support
the Country Representative to track technical trends, donor news, market
opportunities & data, and information on competitors and funders. - Steer
the development and implementation of the country fundraising strategy and
provide feedback to potential donors. - Actively
monitor and provide regular reports on potential new business
opportunities in Uganda relevant to MSH’s priority areas. - Steer
in the strategic development of new business for MSH Uganda by scanning the
environment for opportunities to market MSH within the public and private
sectors - Design
practical strategies to mobilize resources in country through the private
sector. - Pro-actively
explore corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnership and funding
opportunities among the private sector to create strategic and sustainable
alliances. - Support
MSH Uganda projects to raise cost share through identification of
opportunities in the corporate sector and other non USAID funded
initiatives.
- The
candidate should hold a Master’s degree in business administration, public
health, management, or equivalent degree; - At
least six years’ experience working in the development of complex
proposals and managing donor relations - Past
exposure and experience in grants/contracts management and private sector
engagement - Prior
experience working with US government rules and regulations required - Past
exposure and extensive experience and knowledge of regulations and
policies for non-US donors such as DFID, UN, WB, EU, Gates, etc. preferred
- Excellent
interpersonal, presentation and communication skills - Good
working knowledge of donor priorities & the health sector in Uganda
