Job Summary: The Airport
Manager will oversee the airport operation on a day-to-day basis ensuring that
service delivery conforms to regulatory, operational, safety and customer
service standards within a cost effective environment. The incumbent will also
work closely with airport authorities, government agencies and third party
service providers ensuring that Etihad Airways ground handling requirements and
customer service standards are met at all times. Manage and lead the guest
services team to achieve agreed business plan objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee
    the performance at the outstation, owning and managing relationships with
    relevant internal and external parties.
  • Ensure
    local resources are utilized in such a manner that maximum revenue and
    productivity can be achieved within given constraints.
  • Guarantee
    that all airport activities are delivered safely and securely in
    compliance with Etihad corporate, local and CAR OPS regulatory standards.
  • Establish
    and manage Service Level Agreements with Ground Handling Agencies.
  • Responsible
    for the delivery and maintenance of Emergency Response and Business
    Continuity plans.
  • Prepare
    and manage the annual station budget exercising cost-control measures,
    ensuring that opportunities to optimize airport revenues and reduce costs
    are identified and delivered.
  • Ensure
    the Performance Management of all team members is carried out in
    accordance with the Etihad Airways values.
  • Ensure
    that all ground services business is delivered in accordance with the
    Etihad values.
  • Responsible
    for the development of delay, disruption and diversion plans.
  • Perform
    any other ad hoc duties as detailed by the business as and when required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the aforementioned Etihad Airways should hold Degree
    level qualification or hold relevant industry experience, with a demonstrable
    sound knowledge of airport operations and customer service preferably
    gained in five to seven years working experience with an airline or ground
    handling agency ideally with two to three years management experience.
  • The
    candidate must have strong written and verbal English language
  • Computer
    literacy skills
  • Function
    specific licenses for tasks performed, where required e.g. load control
  • The
    Individual must have the right to live and work in Uganda.
