formed in 2009, to promote equitable access to social services and
opportunities for Deaf young people and their families in Uganda through
advocacy, cost effective and sustainable services. Our programme revolves
around promotion of access to social services including health and education to
deaf children and their families in Uganda with the aim of empowering people
with hearing impairments to enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
Assistant will be responsible for mobilizing and coordinating community members
to participate in project activities. The job holder will work closely with the
existing structures at district and community level as well as partners in
implementing the project activities.
- The
suitable candidate should hold a diploma in Social Work, Community
Development or related fields. - At
least one year experience in an NGO or similar, preferably with a
community development role. - Past
exposure and experience and commitment to participatory approaches - Willingness
to live and work in a challenging rural environment - Good
local knowledge of the project area. - Good
writing skills and computer literacy. - Ability
to communicate in Lugbara or other local dialects will be an added
advantage.
