Government’s mandate to fulfill the health obligations. The Health Service
Commission was a creation of the 1995 Constitution. Its establishment was a recognition
of the protracted efforts of Health professionals to have a specialized
appointing Commission which could be sensitive to their cause and professionally
tackle the peculiarities and unique issues inherent in the Health Service.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the proper collection,
handling and transportation of specimen to the Laboratory. - Conducts routine laboratory analysis,
interprets results and submits reports. - Participates in planning, directing,
budgeting, coordinating, monitoring and evaluation of laboratory services
in the Unit. - Actively participates in research and
training. - Participates in policy formulation.
- Conducts support supervision.
- Manages and accounts for allocated
resources. - Ensures that Staff adhere to the relevant
Codes of Conduct and Ethics. - Manages and accounts for allocated
resources. - Performs any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
Experience:
- He /she should hold a University Diploma
in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized Institution. Possession
of a Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Medical Laboratory
Sciences will be an added advantage. - A minimum of three (3) years’ experience
as a Laboratory Technologist. - Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills - Good team building skills
- Exceptional counseling skills
