AIDS Healthcare Foundation (U.S.A) to provide free HIV/AIDS services; including
antiretroviral therapy in resource constrained settings.

Job Summary: The
Regional Medical Director directly manages ll medical activities at AHF-Uganda Cares
supported facilities within Eastern region of Uganda. The successful candidate
will be responsible for AHF activities in the Eastern District of Soroti,
Serere, Amuria & Tororo, ensuring delivery of high quality standard of care
for all HIV/AIDS patients. The incumbent carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures,
and responsibilities include but not limited to planning and accomplishing the
clinics goals, collaborating with AHF Uganda Cares partners and other HIV/AIDS
health sector players among others.

health sector players among others.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- As
senior manager, he/she oversees AHF operations in the Southern / Eastern
regions of Uganda, and supports the National Medical Director to
efficiently and effectively deliver quality clinical services in the
region. - Actively
supports Test and Treatment project and ensure linkage of outreach
activities to treatment and care program through well-established
processes of patient linkages and service integration - Attends
key partners meetings and provides feedback to management through the
national medical director. - Ensure
effective implementation of SMC with Prepex activities in the respective
clinic and other sites in the region - Ensure
that CME activities are conducted in all sites and participates in the
facilitation of CME sessions - Ensure
adequate provider staffing in all healthcare centers at regional level. - Ensures
adherence to AHF financial guidelines as well as financial discipline and
integrity in all facilities in the region
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must be a medical doctor from a recognizable institution.
Additional qualification in Health systems management or Masters in Public
Health will be an added advantage. - At
least five years medical/health service experience preferred with a sound knowledge
of basic medical disciplines to allow for accurate diagnosis and
appropriate management of clinical problems. - Three
years or more of recent experience with HIV/AIDS treatment; two years
minimum of administration and program management experience with knowledge
of clinical protocols and procedures in the management of HIV related
diseases. - Past
exposure and experience in planning and budgeting required.
