Northern Uganda-Health Integration to Enhance Services (NU-HITES) project to
continue providing technical assistance and capacity building support for
Northern Uganda in Malaria, AIDS and Tuberculosis, integrate additional support
in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Family Planning (FP) and
nutrition; while prioritizing the strengthening of district-level health
facilities. This project commenced August 2012.
International Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) Coordinator will be
responsible for supporting data processing (SAP), an Enterprising Resource
Planning System which will enable Plan to have finance, grants, procurement and
projects/programmes processes which are more integrated and will promote consistent
reporting across the organisation. The SAP Coordinator will contribute towards
ensuring that the USAID/NUHITES Project has a functional up-to-date effective,
efficient and user friendly software system that supports project and program
planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating. The job will be
responsible for developing and facilitating training to support staff in use of
SAP; and to monitor and report on its use.
Responsibilities:
- Actively support teams in the NU-HITES to
effectively and efficiently operationalize the SAP system for effective
program delivery in line with the system standards and the Plan global
program requirements. - Actively coordinate capacity and skills
development events for the different teams to effectively work with the
system - Intuitively monitor and support teams to
enter good quality data into the system for effective program planning
implementation, monitoring and reporting in line with the Plan Global
program standards; - Assist teams adhere to the operational standards
of SAP for effective and efficient functionality that supports program
delivery. - Offer requisite trouble shooting and systems
support to teams to address operational challenges that may affect systems
functionality ; - Generate and analyse regular periodic
reports as may be required by Senior Management Team (SMT) for decision
making - Provide SMT and teams regular updates on
system functionality to support its operation. - Serve as a key liaison between NU-HITES
and Plan Uganda Country Office on issues pertaining to SAP as may be required
regularly for effective coordination and support. - Provide information and data generated
through SAP to SMT, teams and Country Office in the preparation of
NU-HITES quarterly and annual reports and Plan global reports such as
Global Reporting survey, CPPR, Regional Quarterly Reports and any other
reports as may be required from time to time. - Technically support program staff in
monitoring expenditure against program implementation and advise SMT.
Experience:
- The ideal applicant for the aforementioned
job opportunity should hold a Bachelor degree (preferred) in Development,
Social Sciences or its equivalent, - Post graduate qualification in on project
management and system administration will be an added advantage - A minimum of two or more years’ experience
in implementation of monitoring and evaluation initiatives - Promotes high performance among programme
staff and provides vision and direction - Open to feedback and willing to try new
approaches on SAP usage - Understands Plan’s needs and behaves
strategically - Strong strategic and analytical thinking
- Skills in planning and monitoring of
rights-based programmes - Proficient in the use of ICT systems for programme
and project management - Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication
(verbal and written) skills - Advanced computers skills in, Excel, MS
Access, SPSS and other statistical packages - Good working knowledge current effective
practice on project and programme management using ICT systems - Demonstrable abilities in planning and
coordination - Past exposure and experience in data
analysis and program management systems - Prior experience working with development
program systems - Strong team building and motivational
skills
