About UCDA:
The Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) is mandated UCDA to: “Oversee the coffee industry by supporting research, promoting production, controlling the quality and improving the marketing of coffee in order to optimise foreign exchange earnings for the country and payments to farmers.”
Job Summary: The Assistant Accountant will assist manage finances, recognize revenue and prepare payments in line with approved financial management policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage debtors, and prepare and deliver invoices to them.
- Ensure timely posting of receipts and payments onto the accounting system.
- Manage and update the fixed assets register.
- Manage petty cash and make petty cash returns weekly.
- Compile and submit periodical summaries of revenue and expenditure.
- Prepare bi-weekly check runs and reconcile supplier accounts.
- Reconcile all bank accounts.
- Enter all financial related information into the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) and the Output Budgeting Tool (OBT).
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Commerce, Accounting and Finance, Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option), or related field;
- At least two years’ working experience in a similar position;
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
