Job Summary: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for steering the implementation and growth of the Solar Sister Program in Uganda whilst overseeing the Program office and all operations, and to be the Program’s Uganda liaison.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CEO of Solar Sister, develop a strategy for implementation and growth of the Solar Sister Program in Uganda. Implement the strategy and initiate program operations.
- Establish, manage and oversee the Solar Sister program office in Uganda and all country operations.
- Mobilize, recruit, train, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the Regional Coordinators and program office staff. Oversee and direct Regional Coordinators in their recruiting, training, monitoring, supervising, and evaluating Solar Sister Entrepreneurs.
- intuitively monitor all financial transactions, record keeping, and financial reporting carried out by the Solar Sister Entrepreneurs and Regional Coordinators.
- Carry out regular site visits to Regional Coordinators and Solar Sister Entrepreneurs for support, supervision, technical assistance, marketing support, and monitoring and evaluation of the program.
- Plan and analyze sales activities. Mobilize and motivate sales teams. Monitor and manage sales volume, sales trends, and customer satisfaction. Manage quality of product and service delivery.
- Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual program reports.
- Foster and maintain solid, long-term working relationships with existing partners and networks. Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and networking with new partners that will support Solar Sister’s strategic goals.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should hold a good Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sales and Marketing, Development Studies, or Business Administration; master’s degree preferred.
- At least five years’ working experience in sales and marketing or other experience that can be shown to demonstrate excellent planning, management, organization, and execution of sales programs.
- Sales and marketing experience and skills
- Skills in development work
- Past financial management experience
- Skills and experience in project planning and management
- Human resource and office management skills
- Skills in team building and motivating sales teams
- Experience in corporate communications, including social media
- Skills in strategy development
- Corporate reporting skills
- Excellent advocacy skills
- Good networking skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer and internet literacy, including with MS Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word
- Possess the ability to communicate clearly orally and in written English. Candidates with knowledge of additional local languages should note those.
- Ability to travel within Uganda frequently
