Network (UYONET)
Manager
umbrella Youth CSO Network that works to mainstream young peoples’ engagement
in development and governance processes in East Africa and beyond. UYONET was
started in 2002 to respond to the increasing demand for a collective platform
for research, training and policy advocacy for young people by young people. Since
inception, UYONET has been positioning the youth to play a leading role in
nation building by enhancing their visibility in policy and governance
processes across East Africa and providing the necessary infrastructure for
information sharing and networking through youth empowerment programmes. With a
membership of over 40 youth organizations, UYONET is now at the apex of youth
programming and designing appropriate interventions that respond to the diverse
needs of the youth across the region.
Officer – M&E will be overseeing UYONET’s monitoring, evaluation, learning
and reporting function in line with the organisation’s Annual Work Plan and
National Strategy objectives.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a first
university degree in any discipline from a recognised institution of
higher learning - Three or more years’ experience in
monitoring and evaluation of development programs. - The ideal candidate should have undertaken
professional training in M&E from a recognised institution. - Past exposure and experience in the design
of M&E tools, surveys, needs assessments, surveillance systems and
evaluations will be an added advantage - Knowledgeable about the project cycle and
project body of knowledge - Excellent statistical and interpretive
analytical skills - Information management and reporting
skills - Possess the ability and prior experience
in collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative date for an
organisation with programming interventions of a national outlook - Highly capable of undertaking M&E
initiatives including monitoring key performance indicators, data quality,
tracking progress of interventions. - The applicant must be a team player and
leader, capable of collaborating with programme teams towards the
requisite results including the development of M&E tools and ensuring
that staffs’ M&E capacity is enhanced. - Highly capable of undertaking M&E
coaching, training and mentoring of programme staffs at both the
secretariat and in member organisations. - Technically competent in the log framing,
development of M&E work plans, result-based programming to inform the
organisation’s planning, development, implementation and evaluation cycle.
