provide legal education to lawyers and non lawyers, undertake research in
topical legal issues, contribute to legal reform, produce legal publications,
teaching materials, law reports and also provide community legal services. Some
of It’s key functions include;
- To
provide legal training to lawyers and non lawyers - To
research into topical legal issues and recommend proposals for law reform - To
provide law reports and legal publications - To
provide community legal services
Assistant will be responsible for processing new materials, circulation them to
readers and organize them according to the specified library.
- The
Library Assistant will be issuing and receiving books from the clients
(library users). - Accessioning
newly received books in the library according to the accession rules. - Shelving
books on daily basis in their respective shelves according to
classification numbers. - In
charge of registering new paid up library users. - Clearing
the library defaulters as well as tracking / filling their respective
cards. - Stock
– taking in the library on daily basis.
- The
applicant should preferably hold a diploma in Library and Information
Science from a recognized university. - Three
or more years’ experience in related work. - Computer
literacy skills.
