About LDC:
The LDC has a mandate to provide legal education to lawyers and non
lawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal
reform, produce legal publications, teaching materials, law reports and also
provide community legal services. Some of It’s key functions include;
  • To provide legal training to lawyers and
    non lawyers
  • To research into topical legal issues and
    recommend proposals for law reform
  • To provide law reports and legal
    publications
  • To provide community legal services 
Job Summary: The Manager
Legal Aid Clinic will technically support the development, planning, Reviewing,
Monitoring and Implementing Legal Aid Clinic Operations and Programs.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Serves as secretary to the Clinic Advisory
    Board.
  • Manage all Clinic’s financial operations.
  • Fundraise for Clinic’s operations and
    manage donor funds.
  • Teach on the Clinic Legal Aid program and
    follow up students’ field placements.
  • Represent clients in the courts of law and
    handle court cases involving LDC.
  • Develop proposals and manage projects.
  • Oversee research on topical legal issues.
  • Supervise, guide and manage staff
    performance under his/her direct report.
  • Submit and compile periodic reports to the
    CAB as need arises.
  • Perform out any other duties as assigned
    and delegated from time to time by the Head of Department. 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The candidate should hold an LLB (Hons)
    degree from a recognized university.
  • Hold a Diploma in Legal Practice from the
    Law Development Centre.
  • The applicant must be an enrolled
    advocate.
  • Possession of LLM or MBA from a recognized
    university is an added advantage.
  • Postgraduate training in management is an
    added advantage. 
Age: Between 30 – 45 years
