provide legal education to lawyers and non lawyers, undertake research in
topical legal issues, contribute to legal reform, produce legal publications,
teaching materials, law reports and also provide community legal services. Some
of It’s key functions include;
- To
provide legal training to lawyers and non lawyers - To
research into topical legal issues and recommend proposals for law reform - To
provide law reports and legal publications - To
provide community legal services
Academic Registrar will primarily coordinate all matters pertaining to the
academic organisation of the Centre.
- Develop
and implement a realistic examination management system. - Coordinate
the planning and implementation of academic staff development programmes. - Process
all matters associated with the issuing of academic transcripts and
certificates. - Direct
students’ admission, registration and academic records. - Plan
and coordinate preparations for academic ceremonies. - Develop
and implement a quality assurance framework for academic programmes. - Develop,
review and maintain student records/information management
guidelines/procedures and monitor implementation in line with best practice. - Mentor,
guide and manage staff performance under and his/her direct report and
guide them in accordance with the law, policies and regulations in force. - Manage
and coordinate the process of planning, budgeting, monitoring and
evaluating academic programmes of the Centre. - Compile
and send periodic reports to the Deputy Director of assigned, delegated
and designated duties. - Offer
technical assistance on procedures, processes concerning quality control
and testing and ensure they are adhered to. - Oversee
daily activities of the quality assurance nature. - Intuitively
review various quality processes and procedures. - Coordinate
with other departments to ensure quality control standards. - Quickly
respond to departmental needs with regard to quality control programs. - Perform
any other duties assigned by the Deputy Director or Director.
- The
candidate should hold a B.A (Hons) degree in Education, Social Sciences,
Arts or any related degree from a recognized university. - Possession
of a Master’s degree in Education Management or Public Administration and
Management. - At
least eight years relevant work experience handling administration and
management issues in an institution of higher learning.
