Africa Innovations Institute
(AfrII) has received funding from the Conservation International USA for the
implementation of the Vital Signs Project in Uganda.
Job Summary: The            Finance/Administration Officer will
be responsible for managing all the administrative, transport, human and
procurement matters of the project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Plan,
    direct and supervise personnel to ensure efficient operations of the activities
    and capacity of the human resource of the project.
  • Manage
    all aspects of financial management of the project.
  • Responsible
    for preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual technical
    and financial and other reports, invoices and request for financial
    reimbursement of partners and donors.
  • Ensure
    adequate maintenance, protection and functioning and management of all
    project assets.
  • Oversee
    and manage procurement activities and freight clearing to ensure
    compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Oversee,
    supervise and manage travel services for staff and sponsored travelers,
    and logistical support for conferences, workshops and training courses.
  • Intuitively
    check expense claims to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Responsible
    for internet and website maintenance and management.
  • Perform
    any other duties as may be assigned from time to
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate should possess a minimum of a BSc in Secretarial Studies,
    Accountancy and Book Keeping, Finance and Public Administration.
  • At
    least three years’ experience as an administrative officer
  • High
    degree of flexibility and ability to learn new skills
  • Good
    interpersonal skills to maintain cooperation with the field team
  • Possess
    the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
