the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out
its functions, authority and autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision
of Education Service Commission is to see “quality education delivered by
efficient and effective education service personnel.”
- Supports the Head Teacher in the overall
administration and management of the School. - Manages the non-teaching and support
staff. - Ensures effective and efficient
maintenance of records, material resources, facilities and information
services for efficient accountability. - Enforces discipline in the School.
- Organizes and assists in the management
and implementation of the curriculum. - Ensures there is integrity of internal and
external exams through good administration and supervision. - Prepares the academic plans, programmes
and schedules (timetable) of the school. - Performs any other duty assigned by the
relevant authority.
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold an
Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Education or an Honours Bachelors Degree with
relevant graduate or postgraduate qualifications in Education from a
recognized University / Institution. - Must be registered as a Graduate Teacher
with the Ministry Of Education and Sports. - At least nine (9) years teaching experience
in a Government owned/Aided Secondary School, three (3) of which should be
at the level of substantive Education Officer. - Prior administrative experience is an
added advantage. - Possession of a Master’s Degree in
Education or related field is an added advantage.

is obtainable from Education Service Commission, 1st Floor Farmers House,
Parliament Avenue, Kampala or Ministry of Education and Sports Kampala or
District Service Commission Offices.
