About NARO:
The National Agricultural
Research Organisation is established by the National Agricultural Research Act
2005 as a body corporate with the mandate to provide strategic direction for
publically funded agricultural research in Uganda. The organisation is composed
of the Council as its governing body, Committees of Council, a Secretariat for
its day-to-day operations with semi-autonomous Public Agricultural Research
Institutes (PARI’s) under its policy guidance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
incumbent will be examining records of various departments and projects to
ensure proper recording of financial transactions at Zonal Agricultural
Research Institutes (ZARDIs). - Actively
monitoring purchase of equipment and materials to ensure that all
transactions conform to approved procurement procedures. - Responsible
for monitoring recruitment and selection of staff to ensure that all
appointments conform to approved human resource policies and procedures. - In
charge of analyzing deficiencies in management controls, duplication of
effort, extravagance, fraud or irregularities against approved management
policies. - Assessing
Risks and advising on Risk management. - Conducting
special duties to discover fraudulent methods and techniques and to
develop controls for fraud prevention. - Preparing
comprehensive reports and findings to the Director and NARO, Head of
Internal Audit.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
candidates for the Internal Auditor Vacancies should possess a good degree
in Commerce, Business Administration with bias in Accounting or Finance. - All
candidates should have at least three (3) years of auditing experience in
a reputable organization.
