Development Initiatives (CIDI) is a National NGO that coordinates and
implements several projects in Uganda. CIDI works at the vanguard of community
development focusing on four thematic areas; water and sanitation promotion,
sustainable agriculture for food and incomes, health promotion, conflict
prevention and peace resolution. CIDI with branches across the country works
amongst the poor and vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas to
improve their livelihoods.
CONCERN Worldwide will implement a three year project in which is aimed at
imparting vocational skills targeting both young men and women of Karamoja in
both on farm and off farm activities. The project will be implemented in three
districts of Moroto, Napak and Nakapiripit.
- Oversee
the mobilization of the young karamojong men and women to actively take
part in the implementation of all project activities. - Organize
and conduct training seminars, workshops and other trainings that are
geared to achieving the objectives of this project. - Work
closely with and link with other partners and stakeholders in the area
such as the local entrepreneurs, vocational skills outlets, district
extension coordination office, arrange sharing sessions with them such as
quarterly review meetings. - Monitor
and evaluate the impact of implemented projects on the youths and document
these findings in an agreed format. - Work
with the project manager to make monthly, quarterly, mid and end of year
progress reports - Perform
any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by CIDI authorized
management for furtherance of organizational goals
- The
candidates must hold relevant qualifications in any of the following
fields; agriculture extension, entrepreneurial skills development, social
sciences, development studies. - Additional
qualifications in project planning and management, monitoring and
evaluation and previous work experience with youth development programs is
an added advantage. A valid riding license is a requirement. - A minimum
of two to three years’ work experience in similar positions. - The
applicant should have excellent report writing, communication and
interpersonal skills, able to work with minimal supervision and beat tight
deadlines. - The
ideal candidate for this position must have excellent training skills,
agriculture extension or entrepreneurial development skills. - He/She
must have a good grasp of the Ngakarimojong language to be able to deliver
trainings to the youth majority of who are illiterate.
