the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out
its functions, authority and autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision
of Education Service Commission is to see “quality education delivered by
efficient and effective education service personnel.”
Responsibilities:
- Prepares the schemes of work and lesson
plans in line with approved curriculum on termly and weekly basis. - Conducts lessons and remedial work
according to the set timetable. - Takes part in setting, administering and
marking internal and external examinations. - Carries out continuous assessment and
evaluation of student performance. - Attends general staff meetings, panel,
departmental and committee meetings. - Guides and counsels students / learners.
- Performs any other duty assigned by the
relevant authority.
Experience:
- The ideal candidates for the Education
Officer Vacancies should hold Honours Bachelors Degree in Education or
Honours Bachelors Degree with relevant graduate or post graduate
qualifications in Education from a recognized University / Institution. - The candidate must be a substantively
appointed Assistant Education Officer in a Government Owned/Aided
Secondary School. - Also, he / she must have qualified and
Registered as a Graduate Teacher with the Ministry of Education and Sports
and taught for at least twelve (12) years from the date of registration as
a Graduate. - At least two (2) teaching subjects or
double main.

or District Service Commission Offices.
