Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Windows Admin – Add / Remove Domain / Domain Controllers, Trusts Administration, Sites And Subnets Administration Site Links Administration,
- Management of Global Catalog Servers,
- Movement and organization of Users between Organisational Units,
- Implementation and management of Group Policy,
- Domain Controller OS and Hardware Administrating,
- Server Performance, optimization and fine tuning,
- Checking the ADS health,
- Checking network health,
- Establishing VPN Connection ,
- IP Security,
- Administering Terminal Services,
- Administering Certification Services,
- Administering Network Services i.e. DHCP, DNS, IIS, RAS, RADIUS, FTP and IAS
- Fixing and resolving Domain Controller issues to minimize downtime,
- Resolve alerts indicating the following services are not running: FRS, Net Logon, KDC, W32Time, and ISMSERV.
- Administrating SYSVOL folder,
- Resolve alerts indicating that the domain controller is not advertising itself,
- Resolve alerts indicating time synchronization problems,
- Administer Domain Controller Hardware Monitor overall services of Windows 2003 OS,
- Monitor the network link between the sites and DCs,
- Review the Duplicate Service Principal Name Report to list all security principals that have a service principal name conflict.
- Monitoring for latest service packs and patches,
- Review the Replication Monitoring,
- Report to verify that replication throughout the forest occurs within acceptable limits.
- Review the Active Directory response time reports.
- Review the domain controller disk space reports, Review all performance related reports.
- Adjust performance counter thresholds or disable rules that are not applicable to the environment or that generate irrelevant alerts.
- Perform Active Directory Database compaction;
- Check the Win32 Time Service manually against atomic source, Prepare for Active Directory Installation.
- Install Active Directory.
- Configuring and Establishing the Active Directory,
- Decommission a domain controller.
- Identify the current configuration of a domain controller.
- Restore the original configuration of a domain controller.
- Add the global catalog to a domain controller and verify global catalog readiness.
- Remove the global catalog from a domain controller.
- Return unused disk space from the directory database to the file system.
- Change the space allocated to the Staging Area folder.
- Ensure no glitches are present in the space allocated for Staging Area folder, Configure a client to request time from a specific time source.
- Optimize the polling interval. Disable the Windows Time Service.
- Remove lingering objects from an outdated writable domain controller.
- Remove a manually created trust.
- Prevent unauthorized privilege.
- Move a domain controller to a different site.
- Testing the Services packs, Hotfix, Security patch etc., communicating the patch deployment to all stakeholders, deploying the patch, Scheduling Active Directory Services Backup, AD Database integrity Check,
- Restoration Drills of Active Directory Backup,
- Perform a non-authoritative restore.
- Perform an authoritative restore of a subtree or leaf object.
- Recover a domain controller through reinstallation.
- Restore a domain controller through reinstallation and subsequent restore from backup.
- Testing the Signature file,
- Installation of periodic DAT file updating on Servers Addressing to the clustering issues,
- Resolve the incidents in cluster domain,
- Administration of Clusters.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidates should possess 3 -5 years’ experience in Windows Server Administration
- Extensive hardware and OS knowledge to support Windows environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer service orientation and ability to work in a team
- Excellent Soft skill, Communications skills(Voice & Email) to handle global customers as well as vendors
- Possess the ability to perform in adverse situations
- Past exposure and experience in Telecom Service provider
