Job Summary: The Social Services Advisor/Director of Services will be responsible for the management and development of all services provided by CiF in Uganda. He/ She shall ensure that a high quality, cost effective model of social work practice is provided in accordance with the organisation’s strategy and policies and with government policy on Alternative Care.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must have attained professional qualification in social work
  • The ideal candidate should also hold a Degree level education, preferably to Master’s level
  • Five or more years post qualifying social work experience preferably including adoption and fostering
  • At least two years staff management experience
  • Past exposure and experience of managing budgets including budget planning, monitoring, reporting and achievement of best value-
  • Past exposure and experience of service development and strategic planning
  • Prior experience in managing HR issues
  • Past experience of managing data and formal reporting of key performance indicators will be highly desirable
  • Past experience of partnership working is essential
  • Experience of developing, implementing and monitoring
  • Policies and procedures, including child safeguarding, health and safety and HR
