Mbale CAP (Coalition Against
Poverty) scheme is a coalition of key players, statutory, civil organizations
and businesses in the Mbale region which seeks to coordinate activities and to
promote social and economic activity. It is involved in work relating to
Health, Education and Livelihoods and this project is part of its Environmental
work. It has a long association with Welsh Government as well as many civil
society groups in that country. The original project and the much expanded one
referred to here has been actively supported at all stages by the Welsh
Government and its officials.

Job Summary: The Project
Manager will oversee the expansion of Mbale CAP tree planting project from one
with a target of one million trees to a target of 10 million trees in five
years. The jobholder will provide Strategic leadership and offer support to
planning, Implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and sustainability
of the project.

planning, Implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and sustainability
of the project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer
inspirational leadership to the project - Provide
Technical and other forms of support to the relevant staff and implementing
partners in the planning, implementation and reporting. - Prepare
and track quality and timely progressive reporting according to the
organization and donor guidelines. - Effectively
manage Project scope by ensuring proper documentation and stake holder
engagement for any changes. - Identify
funding gaps within the project, advice and support the development plans
and mobilize resources. - Ably
supervise, motivate, coach and build capacity of field officers to
proactively plan, manage, monitor and report on the projects performance
in line with the donor guidelines, policies and procedure. - Effectively
engage with different donors and relevant stake holders.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a Good Degree in Forestry, Agriculture or
Environmental Studies - Masters
Degree or higher qualifications in the above will be an added advantage - Proven
senior management experience in reputable international organization. - At
least five or more years minimum experience in implementing donor projects - Comprehensive
knowledge of key and standard donor requirements - Proven
report writing, team and project management experience and skills - Strong
demonstrated analytical, innovative, strategic thinking, advocacy and
financial management skills. - Past
experience in working within matrix management and reporting environment. - Financial
literacy in relation to a project of this size. - Excellent
documentation and report writing skills. - A
good working knowledge and familiarity with IT including social media,
Google maps etc.
