Benedictine Eye Hospital (BEH)
is a Specialised Private Not-For-Profit Hospital of the Benedictine Fathers of
Uganda offering high quality Eye Care Services and Comprehensive Community
Based Rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities.
About Project:
Benedictine Eye Hospital is
implementing a five year project for the elimination of blinding trachoma. This
project is funded by Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust Fund through a
number of partners including CBM, an international NGO committed to Building an
Inclusive Society. Benedictine Eye Hospital will be implementing the project in
the districts of Bugiri, Namayingo, Namutumba and supervising project
operations in Nakapiripirit district on behalf of CBM. The aim of the project
is to reduce the burden of Blinding Trachoma in these districts by at least
65%.
Job Summary: The Project
Assistant will oversee the Project Financial and Activity records and produce
accurate and timely reports and also carry out the Project day-to-day
administrative duties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage
    Project Supplies
  • Responsible
    for Project Financial records and reporting, including
  • In
    charge of Bookkeeping for the project
  • Compilation
    and preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Responsible
    for budget Management
  • Compiling
    and presentation of final accounts for Annual Auditing
  • Guide
    Management on any finance related matters.
  • In
    charge of managing all Project Records and production of Reports as
    necessitated
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Project Assistant should preferably hold a Degree in Accounting and
    Finance or Commerce/Business Administration (accounting option) or Project
    Planning and Management with additional training in accounts.
  • Good
    working knowledge of Records Management or Office Practice or Health
    Services Management will be an added advantage.
  • A
    minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position in a reputable
    organization.
