About NITA-U:
The National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) was established as a statutory body under the National Information Technology Authority, Uganda Act, 2009 as one of the key players in the Information and Communications Technology Sector. Its mandated is to coordinate, promote and monitor IT development within the context of national social and economic development, with a vision as “a facilitator of a knowledge-based, globally competitive Uganda where social transformation and economic development is supported through IT enabled services.”
Job Summary: The Marketing Officer will offer technical guidance and professional support in market research, product development, sales promotions and customer services in line with the Authority’s statutory mandate and strategic business plans.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Compiling and implementing a customer responsive and bankable customer services delivery frameworks including marketing policies, strategies and implementation plans;
  • Conducting market research and surveys
  • Offer guidance in identification and development of new IT products and services;
  • Support in the corporate and or products/services branding and communications
  • Establishing and operationalizing an effective and efficient Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems;
  • Providing technical support in establishing and maintaining a responsive Call Centre systems;
  • Performing capacity building, training and evaluation of front and back office staff in customer care and service delivery;
  • Developing marketing and promotional briefs and messages for implementation.
  • Giving presentations on the Authority’s mandate, products and services to agencies and other departments;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of a marketing campaign’s and sales promotion progress and impacts.
  • Perform any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a BCom/BBA/BSc (Marketing Option) from a recognized University
  • Hold Internationally Recognized Professional Qualification or Post graduate degree in Marketing is an added advantage
  • Possession of a Post graduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage
  • Computer literacy skills (Preferably Microsoft office Applications);
  • A minimum of three or more years working experience, two of which must have been hands on, with a reputable public, private commercial organization.
  • Hand on knowledge of CRM Information System;
  • Practical Marketing Research & Development skills;
  • Possess the ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team;
  • Demonstrable supervisory skills;
  • Excellent business acumen;
  • Capacity to establish credibility, and trust and partnership;
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills;
  • Be a person of integrity and honesty;
