Job Summary: The Manager, Resource Mobilisation & Public Relations will be responsible for coordinating efforts to generate resources for URCS, strengthen relationships and facilitate linkages, relationships and communication within the National Society and its International Partners/Donors and other Stakeholders in line with the URCS Strategic Plan and relevant Organizational Policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Steers the development and implementation of the URCS Resource Mobilization Strategy.
  • Initiates, leads and coordinates Donor intelligence and identification of new Donors in line with fundraising policies and strategy.
  • Develops and manages URCS’ Donor Relations.
  • Steers and coordinates the process of development of Proposals and Concept Notes and ensures timely submission of quality Proposals to Donors.
  • Maintains oversight of all Donor Funded Projects and supervises the management of Donor contracts in line with the URCS strategy.
  • Actively coordinates the development, implementation and monitoring of the URCS’ Communications, Periodic Reporting, Public Relations and Campaign Initiatives in line with the Organization’s Strategic Direction and Programme Objectives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a good bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Development Studies, Social Sciences or relevant discipline from a recognized institution; A relevant Post Graduate qualification (Master’s Degree) will be an added advantage;
  • Significant training in Mass communication/Public Relations and possession of six (6) years progressive experience in a similar position preferably from a busy media house or organisation of which three years must be in a senior management position;
  • The ideal candidate should have strong competencies in both fundraising and Public Relations/Communications; Marketing, Negotiation and Networking skills. A system-oriented person with high sense of judgment, excellent communication and writing skills;
  • The applicant should be mature with high integrity and approachable.
  • All applicants should adhere to The Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
