The mission of the Infectious
Diseases Institute (IDI) is to strengthen health systems in Africa with strong
emphasis on infectious diseases through research and capacity development. IDI
has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission:
prevention, care and treatment; training; research, outreach; and laboratory
services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University-John
Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, implement
and manage the ICT Infrastructure at all the Infectious Diseases Institute
Ltd. offices/facilities – both current and future. - Oversee the day to day proactive IT
service management, i.e., Service support and Service delivery, at all the
Infectious Diseases Institute Ltd. offices/facilities. - Develop and implement information
technology plans and policies in line with technology advancements to
support the institute’s current and future operations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should possess a
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information
Security or related computing discipline. - A minimum of five or more years IT work
experience and a solid background in IT infrastructure operations,
computer network administration and service delivery. - Managerial, leadership, and technical
experience with the ability to mentor and guide other technical staff and
successfully manage the working of an IT team. - Hold professional certifications, e.g.,
CCNA, MCSE, Project Management are an advantage.
