About CATALIST Project:
IFDC is recruiting staff for the 4-year CATALIST-Uganda Project, funded
by DGIS through the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kampala. The
project aims to enable over 110,000 Uganda smallholder farm families to produce
and market potatoes, cassava, rice, soybean and sunflower on a commercial
scale.

Job Summary: The Driver will offer safe, reliable
transportation to IFDC CATALIST-Uganda staff, and ensure the maintenance and
quality operations of program vehicles. The Driver will also support the grants
and Administration Manager in arranging vehicle schedules, ensuring all cars
have been fueled and in good condition for weekly activities. The jobholder
will also ensure that all staff transport requirements are met with efficiency,
safety and reliability as may be assigned by Grants and Administration Manager
and maintain project vehicles to ensure they are in good working conditions.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily transportation operation
duties as assigned to meet all movement demands - Comply with all staff transport needs in
cost effective manner and ensure proper vehicle usage and maintenance - Drive program vehicles responsibly in
accordance with all the pre-set traffic laws and regulations - Ensure timely communication on all issues
related to the program vehicle to effect staff logistics - Ensure proper documentation of all
movements that involve program vehicles for easy follow up/monitoring by
Grants and Administration Manager - Maintain all relevant documentation at all
times including log book, road license, insurance, parking licenses as
well adherence to policies related to vehicle usage
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should hold an ordinary
certificate or equivalent and a valid driving permit with at least B, CM
and DL classes. - At least five years’ experience working
with an international organization or a project - Basic Knowledge of vehicle mechanics
- Knowledge of program areas will be an
added advantage - Trained in Defensive driving skills
- Ability to track vehicle usage and
maintain accurate vehicle log sheets - Excellent organizational and managerial skills
- Ability to read, speak and write English
- Excellent communications and interpersonal
skills
