Dfcu bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a variety of

Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the
Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the
name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring
brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as
equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its
objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs
and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending
institutions.

Job Summary: The dfcu Lead System Architect will be
responsible for developing and implementing an IT Enterprise architecture
framework to support the bank to realize its vision and achieve its strategic
objectives

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Analyze current IT environment to identify
deficiencies and suggest enhancement solutions based on leading industry
Enterprise standards. - Design and document key system components,
interfaces, infrastructure and communications focusing on standards and
technologies that enable g systems performance qualities, such as
availability, security, scalability & recoverability. - Design a coherent long term IT Enterprise
architecture in line with commercial frameworks and the bank’s IT policy - Advise on the creation of the Enterprise
architecture to be adopted by the Bank - Implement the Enterprise architecture in
line with the bank, IT and business requirement - Implement the Core Banking System Change
Project Architecture and monitor interfaces, protocols, internal IT
standards and policies - Update Business Information Plans together
with IT department and support the translation of the Business Information
Plans to a migration plan - Develop and update bank’s IT vision and
secure the bank’s IT architecture Enterprise - Monitor and review agreed targets in
relation to costs , quality and risks
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The candidate should possess a good
University degree in IT, Engineering or other numerical biased degree - Five or more years’ work experience
preferably in a financial service industry - Strong technological skills in Server
hardware, Storage (NetApp), Operating systems (Windows & LINUX),
Security & Network infrastructure. - Professional IT Certification in Project
Management e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, etc. is an added advantage - Expert Knowledge of methods and techniques
such as Tap Scott, DYA, TOGAF, COBIT - Past exposure and experience in IT
Architectural design - Detailed working knowledge of product
design and product life-cycle management - High proficiency in Information Technology
and in research design tools - Excellent interpersonal, organizational,
negotiation and communication skills - Possess the ability to lead, supervise and
transfer knowledge to teams
