efficiency and effectiveness yet simultaneously strengthening quality and
control of resources.
Job Summary: The
Business Development Manager will plan, manage and achieve sales targets and
overall revenue targets by attaining customer and partner satisfaction. The
incumbent will also actively engage in vendor marketing activities – through
participating in vendor activities/events and facilitate vendor and customer
relationship building. The jobholder will oversee customer relationship with
new and existing clients and conduct joint business planning and quarterly
business reviews.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Identify
    business opportunities in the country (Uganda) and across various key
    industries including government, corporate, financial and
    telecommunications sectors.
  • Implementing
    company sales strategies, objectives, targets and plans
  • Manage
    account opportunities pipeline: broker vendors into opportunities,
  • Leverage
    existing field and telesales efforts to drive business opportunities.
  • Build
    a trust-based relationship with key account contacts ensuring TBM market
    share is maintained and opportunities to expand market share are
    exploited.
  • Develop
    partnership execution plans that convert the potential of the business
    propositions into near term, measurable success.
  • Focus
    on technical, market and sales development activities required to jointly
    go to market with complete, competitive solutions for current products.
  • Preparation
    of proposals, tenders, quotes and submitting them.
  • Focus
    on growing the company’s market share in hardware (Lenovo, IBM, and Cisco)
    sales in East Africa region.
  • Identify
    growth areas and/or potential joint initiatives within accounts portfolios
    that represent significant sales opportunities.
  • Close
    new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and
    negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business
  • Operations;
    and Influence clients to maintain and/or grow their commitment to TBM and
    its solutions apart from hardware.
  • Joint
    selling: engage with sales &technical teams in driving opportunities
    end to-end providing assistance and support on sales activities and
    opportunity management.
  • Monthly
    and weekly reporting to sales director via given tools(emails, calls and
    report templates)
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Revenue
    Generation as per the allocated sales target.
  • Managing
    relationships with existing and potential clients.(Number of visits per
    client, number of opportunity leads, updating account plans and project
    updates)
  • Arranging
    periodic (monthly/quarterly) strategy review meetings with the key vendors
    as per account portfolio.
  • Tracking
    and updating the statuses of tenders, in the tender management database.
  • Monthly
    reporting on overall sales performance to Management.
  • Completion
    and accomplishment of relevant product sales-Lenovo Certifications &
    Accreditations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    prospective applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT,
    Marketing, Sales or related field preferred
  • A
    minimum of three to five years’ experience, within the ICT industry.
  • Sales
    accreditation/certifications on product knowledge preferably on Lenovo.
  • Wide
    knowledge and experience in a technology based business development role.
  • Excellent
    sales and negotiation skills
  • Proven
    aptitude in liaising, negotiating, influencing, presentation skills and
    establishing a credible consultative role on all aspects of closing deals
    with key external clients.
  • Have
    competency in strategic planning and budgeting
  • Excellent
    verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability
    to be independent & self-driven in a highly competitive ICT
    environment
  • Be
    results oriented and innovative.
