About Gulu University: 
Gulu University was legally established by a Statutory Instrument No. 31 of 2003. Initially, the University was named Gulu University of Agriculture and Environmental Science and was to specialise in agricultural mechanisation. However, it was later proposed that the University should widen its scope beyond agricultural mechanisation and produce high level human resource that can effectively participate in solving the social and economic problems of the country. It was then renamed Gulu University.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and compiles tender bid documents;
  • Distributes bid documents and notices;
  • Quickly responds to inquiries on bid documents as may be assigned;
  • Verifies procurement and disposal documents for completeness and correctness;
  • Updates and maintains procurement and assets disposal records;
  • Enters sanctioned transactions in the procurement system for further processing;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Assistant Procurement Officer should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Logistics, Business Administration preferably Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management or Equivalent related field obtained from a recognized University;
  • At least two years’ experience in Procurement or related field;
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. working knowledge of Excel and Word Processing
  • Excellent communication skills      
Age: 25 – 35 years
