Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  : 
  • Supporting the Principal Land Officer in
    coordinating, planning and budgeting for the Ministry of Lands, Housing
    and Urban Development Zonal Office.
  • Providing input on land management during
    the review and development of land policies, legislation, standards,
    regulations and guidelines.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting
    on the implementation of policies, laws, standards and regulations that
    relates to land management.
  • Supervising the processing of transactions
    for the acquisition of land like lease offers and deed plans
  • Arbitrating and reporting on the
    settlement of land disputes.
  • Supervising the compiling, proper custody
    and update of records of land transactions.
  • Offering technical support supervision and
    training to Local Governments and other stakeholders on matters regarding
    or incidental to land management.
  • Perform any other duties as may be
    assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The jobholders should be Ugandans holding
    Honour’s Bachelor’s Degrees in either Law or Land Economics or Surveying
    or Land Management or any other relevant qualification from a recognized
    Institution. A Post Graduate Diploma in a related field will be an added
    advantage.
  • He/She should have a minimum working
    experience of at least (6) six years (3) three of which should be at the
    level of Land Officer from a reputable firm/organization.
  • Good working knowledge of Land
    Administration policies, legislation, standards
  • Professional ethics of the practice of
    Land Management Supervisory skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills
  • Possess the ability to lead a team of
    skilled professional,
  • Ability to coach, mentor and motivate
    subordinates,
  • Computer literacy skills. 
Age: Between 25 years and above

Public Service Commission Office, 2nd Floor, Farmers House, Parliament Avenue,
Kampala, Ministry/Department Headquarters and District Service Commission
Offices, or can be downloaded from the PSC website, download here.
Hand written applications are also acceptable.
  • Application forms should bear the title of
    the post followed by the Reference Number specified against the vacancy.
    The appropriate Advert Title e.g. “PSC Internal Advert. No. 2/2014”
    should be indicated in capital letters on the top of each first page of
    the Public Service Form No. 3 (2008). Applicants should attach three sets
    of photocopies of their certificates and testimonials. Applicants
    subsequently shortlisted for oral interviews shall be required to present
    certified copies and originals of their academic transcripts and
    certificates at the time of sitting the Oral Interviews.
  • Applicants should attach three (3) recent
    certified passport size photographs and should apply for a maximum of only
    two (2) posts clearly indicating the first and second choice on the
    application.
