• Collecting and
  analyzing data on condition of national and district, urban and community access
  roads (ducar) to facilitate planning and monitoring programmes;
• Carrying out the
  design, document and supervise the construction of bridges and drainage
  structures on ducar;
• In charge of developing
  and disseminating guidelines in respect of development of ducar roads to
  local governments;
• Developing and
  enforcing appropriate designs in construction and maintenance of bridges,
  national and ducar roads;
• Initiating policy
  guidelines for decongesting Kampala city roads and other major urban
  areas;
• Responsible for monitoring
  programs and routine ducar roads management activities;
• Developing and
  coordinating work-plans for ducar roads development;
• Build the capacity of
  technical staff engaged on the development of ducar roads;
• Perform any other
  duties as may be assigned from time to time.

• The applicants should be
  Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering plus a
  minimum of a Postgraduate Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized
  University /Institution;
• He/She should be a
  registered Civil Engineer with the Uganda Engineers Registration Board
  (UERB);
• A minimum of six or
  more  (6) years of relevant
  experience at least three (3) of which should have been served at the
  level of a Senior Engineer in Government or equivalent experience in road
  management from a reputable Organisation.

• Application forms should bear the title of
  the post followed by the Reference Number specified against the vacancy.
  The appropriate Advert Title e.g. “PSC Internal Advert. No. 2/2014”
  should be indicated in capital letters on the top of each first page of
  the Public Service Form No. 3 (2008). Applicants should attach three sets
  of photocopies of their certificates and testimonials. Applicants
  subsequently shortlisted for oral interviews shall be required to present
  certified copies and originals of their academic transcripts and
  certificates at the time of sitting the Oral Interviews.
• Applicants should attach three (3) recent
  certified passport size photographs and should apply for a maximum of only
  two (2) posts clearly indicating the first and second choice on the
  application.
