Job Summary: The World Vision Regional Advocacy Coordinator-North will actively coordinate Local Level advocacy and campaign initiatives in Karamoja and Northern Regions, ensuring their linkages to national, regional and international advocacy processes, in line with National Office, WVU and EARO advocacy strategic priorities. The incumbent will also facilitate mainstreaming of peace and conflict sensitive programming in ADPs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Coordinate advocacy and campaign interventions by ensuring linkages and coherence between engagements at the ADP, Cluster, Regional and National levels, in the context of integrated ministry (IM) with a focus on Northern regions.
  • Actively facilitate staff and partner capacity building in VCA CVA approaches including coaching in advocacy skills, mainstreaming gender and peace-building for enhanced integration in ADP assessments, designs and plans.
  • Participate in development and implementation of guidelines and product models for staff and partners during assessments designs, planning, implementation and evaluation of advocacy interventions.
  • Identify research opportunities and coordinate their planning and implementation for evidence building and policy influencing. In collaboration with EARO LC, coordinate dissemination and utilization of research findings through publications and media.
  • Work closely with the technical specialists and clusters to harmonize sectoral advocacy issues and action plans with program operations for enhanced ministry integration.
  • Carry out regular field support visits to assess progress arising out of advocacy engagements at the local and national levels.
  • Document most significant change stories and innovative practices from implementing advocacy initiatives.
  • Build and strengthen issue based networks/ alliances/coalitions for collective advocacy engagements at the local, national and regional levels.
  • Play an active role in resource mobilization, through proposal writing and also play an active role in advocacy related projects implementation management, monitoring including donor reporting.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate for the Regional Advocacy Coordinator must possess a university degree in development discipline, postgraduate training in related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • At least five years field experience in advocacy Campaign coordination, Behavior Change Communication in the field of Health and HIV /AIDS programming
  • The candidate should possess excellent advocacy and communication skills, facilitation and materials development for health promotion
  • Should have strong collaboration and networking skills
  • Good writing and documentation skills
  • A mature and committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
  • Demonstrated commitment to World Vision’s mission statement and Core Values
