Job Summary: The Business Analyst will mainly
provide statistical input to the UTL business strategy that will create and
deliver shareholder value.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data to
    drive decision making
  • Carry out competitive analysis to ensure
    effective strategic response to competitor activity in the market
  • Uses skills in data design and modelling
    techniques to develop analytics, reports & their representation as per
    agreed formats
  • Analyse traffic generation by different
    service nodes within the Uganda Telecom offering
  • Develop pricing simulations and models and
    appropriately select and justify various pricing scenarios to ensure
    markets share growth
  • Monitor product profitability, viability
    and performance in the market and recommend strategic responses
  • Analyse promotional effectiveness,
    justification and appraisal
  • Define relevant product and service
    specifications to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of marketing plans
  • Conduct cost analysis, and input into the
    budgeting and proposal generation process
  • Perform competitive pricing surveys and
    benchmarks and establish prices for products, services and bundled
    solutions
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • Two or more years’ experience in a
    strategic statistics function within the telecommunications sector or
    related
  • Competence in Statistics and/or Financial
    Analysis
  • Excellent track record of consistent
    performance in telecommunications or related industry
  • Demonstrable research capability
  • Possess the ability to work in a team
  • High degree of flexibility to work with
    minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
    skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working
    under pressure.
  • Excellent innovation skills &
    proactivity
  • Analytical ability to recognise trends and
    opportunities and plan/execute action to exploit business opportunities.
  • Excellent communications skills to deal
    with people at all levels and backgrounds.
  • Ability to present compelling business
    cases for major investment in Within the company.
  • High degree or personal and professional
    integrity
