capacity of health systems in Africa with strong emphasis on infectious
diseases through research, and capacity development. IDI has five operational

Job Summary: The USAID Chief of Party (COP) will be
responsible for all reporting to the funder and shall provide strategic
leadership and oversight to overall project implementation.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Master’s Degree or higher in Public Health, MBA, Social Sciences or an
equivalent field - Eight or more years of project management
experience in large, multi-year internationally-funded health sector
development programs that have implemented successful activities in
HIV/AIDS. - Detailed knowledge and understanding of
the Uganda health system and health service delivery care gaps and
opportunities; and solid relationships with government agencies. - In-depth knowledge of USG programs,
regulations, compliance and reporting and in particular with experience
with USAID funded programs. - Requisite qualifications include an
appropriate balance of technical, managerial and interpersonal skills and
experience. - S/he shall have a deep understanding of
the project goals and objectives and be able to articulate the strategic
vision for the program. - Significant experience in interacting with
Uganda government agencies (including central and local government
agencies) and civil society organizations is essential. - Excellent past performance references
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and
oral and written communication skills
