areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and
Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a
partnership with the Makerere University-John Hopkins University Core Lab) and
Outreach. IDI invites applications for the following full-time positions for
upcoming US government (USAID) sponsored projects for delivery of services for
HIV/AIDS and related health conditions.
responsible for overall implementation of the HIV/AIDS prevention, care and
treatment project portfolio.
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Master’s
Degree or higher in Public Health, International Development, Sociology or
the equivalent in a field related to health HIV/AIDS programing. - A minimum of eight years of progressively
responsible professional experience working in Uganda in health, HIV/AIDS
and/or the development field. - Skills in at least two or more of the
following technical areas: strengthening service delivery programs, training,
pre-service education, performance and quality improvement, monitoring and
evaluation - Extensive exposure and knowledge of Health
and HIV/AIDS service delivery in the public and private sector in Uganda
and in other sub-Saharan African countries, including health promotion and
a sound understanding of the social, economic and cultural determinants
and implications of the HIV epidemic in Uganda. - Demonstrated in-depth understanding of
Ugandan healthcare system, particularly the public health system. - Skills in engagement with government
departments/facilities and CSOs for HIV programming
