About USAID RWANU Project:
Concern Worldwide Uganda is recruiting for two positions for the USAID-funded PL 480 Title II Development Food Aid programme called “Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture and Nutrition” (RWANU) in Karamoja and for a potential short-term project. RWANU will focus on two strategic objectives to reduce food insecurity among vulnerable rural populations in selected sub-counties in 4 districts of Karamoja.
Job Summary: The Nutritionist will actively contribute to the implementation of all health and nutrition related activities. The Nutritionist is responsible for providing coaching, mentoring, training, and technical support; including monitoring and evaluation. They will contribute to the development of nutritional components for social behaviour change and Mother Care Group materials. The Nutritionist will provide technical support to Health Facility Coordinators in monitoring Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) services into health facilities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, excellent at the English written and spoken language, relevant diplomas and short courses in project management or community development.
- At least three to five years relevant nutrition-related experience in a challenging environment
- Past experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues or participants
- Prior experience in working with local government and local health services, experience in IMAM.
- Desired experience with working using the care group approach.
