Job Summary: The Procurement
Officer will primarily be responsible for ensuring that all e goods, works and
services are procured in accordance with PPDA Act, 2003 and Regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Actively participate in consolidation of
annual procurement plan in close collaboration with the Procurement
Manager; - Responsible for verification of
completeness of procurement requisitions from user departments and
confirmation that the required item is in the approved procurement plan; - Timely prepare the solicitation documents
for works, goods and services - Oversee the issuing of solicitation
documents, receive bids using standard procurement forms - Provide technical direction and assistance
in evaluation of bids and report any material deviations, - Actively participate in periodic
preparation of the procurement reports - Work closely with service providers,
suppliers, contractors and Contract Managers to ensure timely deliveries,
complete and meet the objectives of the organization. - Compile and submit reports on weekly and
monthly basis on procurement activities; - Oversee tender/bid closing and pre-bid
meeting in line with the procedures laid in the PPDA Regulations - Actively participate in preparation of
disposal plan together with the User departments
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The candidate should hold a good
University degree in either Procurement, Logistics, Economics, Law,
Engineering or Accounting, Finance and any other business related
discipline from a recognized University and full possession of
professional qualification in Procurement (MCIPS.CISCP, Membership to NEVI
etc) - Three or more (three) years of experience
in procurement function of which at least two years in a busy public
Institution. - Highly computer literate especially in the
use of Microsoft office Applications (MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point) - Excellent communication skills with strong
interpersonal skills - Excellent innovative and problem solving
skills - High level of integrity
