Job Summary: The Research & Product Development Officer will render support in the development and growth of the NSSF corporate brand, services and products through research and product development. The jobholder will also steer and drive world class understanding of customer attitudes, motivations and trends that can be leveraged to grow the NSSF brand.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and intelligence on current and new innovations in the social security sector/ industry and generate reports with recommendations in line with the department’s work plan.
- Analyse and create projections for future market trends.
- Analyse and recommend potential partner relationships for products.
- Actively participate in the management of NSSF’s social media platforms to generate business leads that will enhance the institution’s business performance.
- Support management to manage product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
- Identify and manage research agency partners who add value through interpretation and recommendation while ensuring efficient budget utilization.
- Measuring NSSF marketing activities impact in terms of effectiveness and ensuring M&E learning is applied to drive growth throughout the organization.
- Work in liaison with Product Development Manager to develop and launch new products as well as prepare product development plans.
- Monitor and communicate market and research findings to the business.
- Transform research outputs into simple, actionable implications.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The NSSF applicant should hold a good bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Qualitative and Quantitative field or any other relevant field.
- A minimum of three or more (three) years of Research & Product Development experience with at least 2 of those at a supervisory level in a highly competitive environment and in a research business sector.
- Past exposure and experience in both quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
- Prior experience in the use of data analysis software (SPSS, STATA, Excel, etc).
- Significant experience in product development is an added advantage.
- Ability to think analytically and creatively.
- High personal initiative and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication and report writing skills.
- Possess the ability to design and implement operational researches using different research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative methods) to provide information for planning, monitoring and evaluation as well as product development.
