Job Summary: The IT Software Developer will be responsible for managing tax reporting and compliance within NSSF. The jobholder also ensures tax returns are completed and accurate to minimize tax obligations. The incumbent will be responsible for tax planning in preparation for future filings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish detailed programme specifications through discussion with clients.
- Work as part of a team, which may be established purely for a particular project, to write a specific section of the programme.
- Design and test all elements of the various programmes.
- Carry out testing and installing of various programmes into production.
- Evaluate and increase the various programmes’ effectiveness,-
- Adapt the programmes to new requirements, as may be necessary.
- Carry out user acceptance testing(UAT) to ensure the various programmes can be used easily, quickly and accurately;
- Write detailed documentation for the operation of the various programmes by users and computer operators.
- Update, repair, modify and develop existing software and generic applications.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidate should hold a Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or related field with a Diploma in Computer Science
- Qualification in programming/ software development.
- At least four years’ experience in: web development, mobile phone applications, web design, multimedia design and web content management.
- Past exposure to web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
- Prior experience of development using web technologies
- Good knowledge and understanding of 00 programming and design patterns
- Good understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax and PHP.ASP.NET
- Prior exposure and experience working with relational database systems such as MySQL, MSSQL, POSTGRESQL or Oracle
- Past experience building web and native apps
- Significant experience using social media APIs
- Proven commercial software development experience – desktop and mobile
- Published examples of mobile applications on the App store or the Android market
- Excellent track record of delivering successful consumer and or business products
- Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decision
- Possess the ability to work on their own and as a part of the team
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with various departments
