Umbrella
structure developed for Operation and Maintenance (O&M) support of Rural
Growth Centres and small towns piped water supply and sanitation schemes. The
overall objective of the organization is to ensure that completed piped waters
supply systems pull ideas and resources together for the achievement of
sustainable operation and maintenance in the Northern and West Nile Region.
International (VEI) has partnered with Ministry of Water and Environment
(WSDF-N), Northern Umbrella of Water and Sanitation, National Water and
Sewerage Corporation, Association of Private Water Operators, GIZ and the 10
beneficially towns to implement a project on “Water Asset Management for small towns
in Uganda with special focus on Post-Conflict Northern Region “.
will be responsible for administering and managing daily administrative,
accounting and finance functions.
- Responsible for the day to day running and
administration of the accounts section. - In charge of maintenance and update the
books of accounts on a monthly basis, correct positioning and ensuring
that all documents related to secretariats accounts are kept properly for
audit purposes. - Preparation of monthly, quarterly and
annual cash flow schedules in line with DWD established guidelines. - Responsible for disbursing all payments as
authorised by the manager. - In charge of all banking activities including
cash and cheque deposits, cash withdraws, collection of bank statements,
and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. - Provide financial advice to management on
day to day issues concerning secretariat finances and examine all payments
to ensure accuracy and validity. - Responsible for general Administration;
documentation, personnel management matters, office equipment, furniture
and materials, vehicles and stores management. - Carrying out regular field visits to
member schemes to monitor and ascertain the performance on financial,
managerial and social aspects, and prepare monitoring reports for
secretariat. - Design and continuously update a
monitoring checklist/form for obtaining data from member schemes about
their performance on all financial aspects. - Advise WSSBs on matters of planning,
budgeting, financial Management, book keeping, and ensure that Umbrella
organisation guidelines are correctly observed. - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time by the Manager in your area of speciality.
Experience:
- The applicant should possess a good
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent from a recognised
University - Three or more years’ experience in the
accounting and finance profession - Professional Accounting qualifications
such as ACCA, CPA and experience in administration will be an added
advantage.
