by more than 600 international staff and 13,500 volunteer Coaches. Right To
Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses specially-
designed sport and play programs to improve health, build life skills, and
foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty, and
disease. Working in both the humanitarian and development contexts, Right To
Play has projects in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East
and Latin America. It is a global-scale implementer of Sport for Development
and Peace programs and takes an active role in driving research and policy development
in this area and in supporting children’s rights.
Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Finance and
Administration officer is to develop and implement the country strategy, by
providing required financial inputs, as well as ensuring sound financial
practices in the country and rigorous budgetary control.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Take the leading role on financial
    planning, forecasting, budgeting and developing financial management
    capacity throughout the country.
  • Directly manage, provide, support and
    offer guidance to the country finance team to ensure effective and
    proactive financial leadership.
  • Ensure internal financial procedures,
    systems, policies and controls are applied and complied with throughout
    the country program operations by all staff.
  • Be responsible for oversight of the
    country office financial management processes, risk assessment, timely
    accounting and reconciliation of all transactions.
  • Ensure donor financial reports and other
    requirements are complied with to maximize available funding requirements.
  • Compile and prepare donor financial
    reports in line with donor reporting requirements and monitor on-going
    levels of expenditure on individual program against approved budget.
  • Manage and support the performance and
    development of the in-country finance and administration staff, to ensure
    the provision of an efficient and effective service.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics officer to
    ensure compliance with RTP financial management & procurement
    procedures in procurement, stock management, asset management, fleet
    management, maintenance of communications and IT systems.
  • Ensure that contractual commitments (e.g.
    for the rental of vehicles and/or premises) are financially sound and
    appropriate for the circumstances of the program.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in financial management and professional courses like
    ACCA, CPA, & CMIA. A Masters degree or equivalent postgraduate
    qualifications in Finance or Accounting will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five years’ managing
    financial resources in a reputable organisation and preferably at Senior
    Management level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multi-currency
    financial systems and implementing internal controls.
  • Past experience and understanding of
    working in a donor environment with financial management in an
    international NGO setting.
  • Proven administration skills
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
    in accounting systems (e.g. ACCPAC, QuickBooks, Sage, PS Financials).
  • Skills to design ACCPAC report templates.
