Job Summary:  The Specialist, Data Centric Systems Support
will offer operational support to end users of data-centric systems
organisation-wide
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in the execution of approved
    policies and procedures on information management and enterprise resource
    planning
  • Assist in gathering user requirements for
    the development of data-centric solutions to support enterprise strategy.
  • Support users in defining their
    application needs. Also assist in the automation of application interfaces
    to improve user-independence and reduce system downtime.
  • Assist in the delivery of technical
    solutions and general support to end-users of OLAP e.g. Multi-Dimensional
    Databases, OLAP Cubes, and Star Schemas etc.
  • Offer technical support in the execution
    of technical test plans for data-centric application change, new
    deployment and upgrades.
  • Assist in the development of a proactive
    maintenance cycle per application and keep application documentation
    updated at all times.
  • Work in liaison with the Service Desk team
    to ensure that enterprise application incidents (involving data-centric
    systems) are received and resolved efficiently and in a timely manner in
    compliance with Service Level Agreements.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate database
    of information about previous incidents to help in quickly resolving any
    similar incidents.
  • Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function
    in carrying out all relevant activities.
  • Attend team/divisional/departmental
    meetings as required.
  • Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity
    and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Enterprise
    Applications Support.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by
    the Manager, Enterprise Application Support.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant should preferably hold a degree
    or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in
    similar job roles
